About me
Stacy Lischka is the Executive Director of Poudre Valley Community Farms, a community organization that works to provide long-term, affordable land and water access and business development support to farmers in Northern Colorado. PVCF owns or manages 4 properties in Northern Colorado and has supported 9 producers with places to farm. One of the key components of Stacy’s work at PVCF is supporting a Conservation Agriculture partnership with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department. This partnership is designed to provide access to land and water for small scale and beginning farmers while improving soil health, pollinator biodiversity, and water conservation on Natural Areas properties. Stacy worked as a conservation biologist in the West and Midwest for nearly 20 years before making a switch to agriculture and she brings a unique perspective to her work to achieve conservation goals while supporting small agricultural business owners. Stacy holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, M.S. from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. from Colorado State University. Outside of her work hours, you can usually find Stacy in the kitchen, where she spends her hours fermenting anything she can get her hands on, putting her grandma’s canning recipes into practice, and sharing the joy of cooking and eating with her husband and 2 young children. She also loves to spend time in, on, and near water in all of its forms.
